So far, it's been an eventful summer with non-stop action. In the past month we've of course brought home the triplets, attempted to develope a routine for them, had a birthday part for our 4-year old Elsie, and one for our 2-year old Adeline, sold a house, moved completely out of a house, and bought a new one. So, needless to say, time has flown by us.
We've had the triplets home now for almost 3 weeks and we are getting into a decent routine. They still sleep 3-4 hours between feedings, occasionally an hour longer, and sometimes an hour shorter, but they are fairly consistent. Leah and I have devised a couple of ways for one of us to feed two of the babies at once, which saves a considerable amount of time. It still takes approx 30 minutes to change, feed, and burp each baby, not unlike any other baby in the world, and we do it on average 7 times a day.
Elsie and Adeline each had their birthdays in the past month. We think they were pretty pleased with what toys they got, or at least they didn't complain otherwise. We are trying to keep them busy this summer with swimming lessons and gymnastics, then dance a little later in the summer. Elsie and Adeline can be very helpful with baby chores as you might imagine and have assumed ownership of all swings, vibrating chairs, carseats, and any other baby item they can get their hands on, for the their dolls. We think they are pretty happy with the new additions to the family.
In other news, Leah and I were able to sell our Kansas City home. We actually sold it to some of our close friends in KC and hope they are enjoying the house as much as we did. And b/c of that, we were able to begin searching for a new home up here in Norfolk. And as of last weekend we did find a home and agreed to terms with the seller. We are hoping to close in approx 3 weeks.
Hope everyone is doing well.
